History Symposium's are truly one of the Museum’s most popular and significant educational experiences. Each symposium has received rave reviews, such as:
The four-day agenda features nationally-recognized speakers, prominent authors, local experts, living history performers, a bus tour to unique venues, and more. Symposiums are open to the public and teachers consider them “must-attend” in-service credit programs.
Symposiums typically feature a specific decade in history since the time of the invention of the automobile. The sessions explore every aspect – politically, culturally and socially. Symposiums have been known to spark lively debates and thought-provoking ideas, to entertain and touch the senses, from joyous laughter to a tear or two, and to generate engaging question and answer sessions.
The Museum’s symposiums have been approved by the Nevada Department of Education for teachers to receive in-service credit.
